bricks

A couple of weeks ago I spoke with Karen Covell, founding director of Hollywood Prayer Network. She is a Hollywood producer, a lover of Jesus, and an intercessor for her industry. Karen shared with me that even in Hollywood “it’s a battle to do films; there is so much resistance, and society is telling artists to ‘get a real job!’”

Filmmaking is hard work. It’s a very long process and there are millions of details.

If it’s challenging to create films that entertain, imagine the additional obstacles that arise when working to provide film tools to help build the kingdom of God.

While The JESUS Film Project® will not be responsible for the actual film production, there are still lots of details for us to work through—stewarding the biblical and theological accuracy of our scripts; developing ministry strategies for using these films; overseeing the development of the additional resources that will be part of telling Paul’s story; and much more …

Daily we make progress with The Paul Project details. It means a lot to us that you are engaged as faithful, persevering prayer partners throughout this process. Won’t it be wonderful to look back someday soon and see all that God has done!

Prayer Requests:

  • Continue to pray for God’s wisdom to guide the leaders of The Paul Project and the production company.
  • Ask God to break down any barriers that stand in the way of moving The Paul Project forward.
  • Continue to ask God for 500 – 1,000 responses to the millennial survey we sent out two weeks ago.

“… for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure” (Philippians 2:13, English Standard Version).

PS: Recently one of our Paul Project prayer partners told me about the smartphone app “Echo Prayer.” You might want to check it out as you pray for this project and other prayer concerns you have.

Pray for Israel

Jerusalem

As you may remember, Jim Green and Eric Foster were recently location scouting in Israel with members of the production company. They were actually in many of the areas currently being affected by the conflict in the Gaza Strip.

As we hear the news of current events there, our hearts are touched deeply. Please join us in praying for Israel, that the Lord will protect the people and bring peace to the area.

“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: “May those who love you be secure. May there be peace within your walls and security within your citadels” (Psalm 122: 6 – 7, New International Version).

Preparing Hearts (video)

We have prayed before about the intended audience for The Paul Project resources. This week I am privileged to share via video what’s on my heart as we pray for those who will see the feature film, the mini-series, and other elements of The Paul Project.

Prayer Requests:

  • Pray that young people will be curious to learn about the apostle Paul and that they will meet Jesus.

  • Pray for Christians who are feeling defeated, that they will experience Jesus’ promise of life full of meaning and purpose.

  • Pray that hearts will be good soil, ready to receive the Word of God.

“As for that [seed] in the good soil, they are those who, hearing the word, hold it fast in an honest and good heart, and bear fruit with patience” (Luke 8:15, English Standard Version).

Thank you for persevering in prayer with us. Through our prayers we are tearing down strongholds and preparing the way for Jesus’ entry into the hearts of many. Someday soon we’ll see the fruit of our labors.
